We also fly them.
The Motivation
As users of many freeware and commercial add-on products for Microsoft Flight Simulator, we were disappointed by several products that
fell short of our expectations.
Some lacked the quality and attention to detail that we would expect in today's designs.
Other products lacked "full line" development and would only feature one or two aircraft variants, neglecting other
similar models that should have been included in order to provide a more complete package.
Then there's the issue of product support -- or lack of it. We are amazed at the number of designers that offer little to no
assistance for users of their products, as they decline to return emails or pick-and-choose which questions to answer in their support
forums. What's worse, a few developers appear to think so highly of themselves that they refuse to accept
any feedback other than that which is positive, otherwise they threaten to take their products and disappear. Good grief.
Finally, with the vastly inconsistent and sometimes confusing pricing
structures and annoying software protection methods linked to most commercial software, and a growing number of
patches and updates needed to make so many products work properly, things were becoming far more
complicated for the average user than it needed to be.
Perhaps we simply have unrealistic expectations?
Nah.
Something Different
You know what they say, "If you don't like it, then do it yourself."
So we did.
As experienced aircraft designers, we know where our strengths are, and as such, you will not find us attempting
to make panels or sound files. We'll leave that to the folks who are highly skilled in those areas.
Building airplanes is what we do. It’s all we do.
Specializing in aircraft design exclusively allows us provide new releases more frequently while keeping development
costs low. We are able to focus 100% of our energy on the airplane, resulting in a product with
superior quality, more variants, and more repaints, all at a very affordable price.
In fact, our aircraft are feature-rich enough to fly on their own, yet inexpensive enough to accompany, enhance,
or upgrade your existing freeware or purchased panel and sound packages.
The Aircraft
All of our aircraft releases feature "full line" development, meaning all models
and variants of a given aircraft type will be represented. For our DC-9 aircraft
package,
for example, we have included all manufacturer variants including the Series
-11, -14, -15, -21, -31, -32, -33, -34, -41, and -51 in their appropriate passenger,
freighter, or combi configurations, each with their own unique flight dynamics and factory installed options.
You'll find none of that generic stuff here!
Of course, the repaints we provide are paired up with the correct aircraft model
to ensure that the plane you fly is in the same configuration as the one the real airline flew. And speaking of repaints, Jet City Aircraft
goes to great lengths to verify the detail and accuracy of each one of them. For every aircraft series we release, you can expect the
majority of the common operators of the aircraft to be represented, so you'll have plenty of repaints to choose from. Best of all, you
can download all your favorite repaints at your convenience without having to pay extra for them.
